Here’s what’s happening with us....

It started with Breakfast.

Today’s adventure started with a hardy breakfast at Priscilla’s. The restaurant happened to be next to a new cache. We found the cache then had a wonderful meal. Stephanie and I decided it was a co first to find. I found the cache, but Stephanie had the pen to sign the log.

The digging out begins.

The Parental Units return in a couple of days. Time to dig out the car. Although there appears to be alot of snow, it was easily moved. After only 2 hours the task was completed. Now its time to install the battery.

A day at the Ottawa RV Show

We have been waiting a couple of weeks for the show to open. We spent 4 hours on site, and narrowed it down to two models…..then one model. The Coachman Banner series. A 28 foot travel trailer with an outdoor kitchen, 2 slide outs, and no bunk beds. The trailer is rated as three seasons. The pipes are in the heated floor so they won’t freeze when we camp in October. Now all we need is a truck. We have to look into that before we commit to something like this.

The fireplace. And of course the TV.

A stove. We don’t have a stove in our current camper.

The outdoor kitchen. A must have!

Snow, snow, snow……

It may have been warmer this weekend, 30 degrees to be exact. But the snow kept coming. Thankfully we have a local friend who owns a 4×4 truck with a snowplow. He has been kind enough to come to our house after every snowfall to take care of the laneway. This was only the second time I pulled out the snow blower this year. If it snows anymore I won’t need a ladder to take the Christmas lights down. With all my bellyaching we still don’t have it as bad as those folks on the east coast!

60c difference from inside to outside!

The furnace is getting its workout this weekend. There is actually a 60c difference from inside to the outside. It’s too bad that the last weekend of Winterlude has to be so cold. Stephaine and I braved the cold and snow blew the driveway. The drifts were at least 2 1/2 feet tall. Mostly blowing snow though. We only got 15cm. I can’t wait for this to end….UGH!!

It always looks nice, but it’s really cold -40c with the wind chill.

I’m not sure how cold Apple wants it to be……

I forgot my Iphone in the car last night. It was minus 25… I got in the car this morning only to find it was too hot to use my Iphone????

It’s only getting colder and deeper.

You know there’s lots of snow when the turkeys have to reach down to eat out of the feeder. The snow continues and so does the plunging temperatures. If it does not start warming up soon I might have to start doing some warm weather destination research.

Where would I rather be???

What a difference a year makes. Me on February 1st in Florida and at +25c, and me here at home at -25c. I hope that it warms up soon….

Our last night. And cream puffs…….

Our last night was all about cream puffs… Earlier in the week Pat found some cream puffs up at the dessert buffet. By the time we went for dessert there wasn’t any left! All through the rest of the visit we kept our eyes peeled. It was on our last night that Stephanie found some. (I think she ordered them especially for us) Pat and I enjoyed them thoroughly.

Before we left Stephanie went around taking some pictures of the the area. We will certainly be back…..

Another gourgeous day in Mexico. We set out to visit Isla Mujeres. Like before when we arrived we rented a golf cart and took an wonderful tour. We visited the turtle farm, the bottle island, the most eastern point in Mexico and topped it off with luch at the Mango Cafe. Its a excellent restaurant.
