This is was our last day in the Orlando are. And a beautiful day it was. We decided to head out to the coast for some sun, waves and ice cream. Our flight did not leave until 21:25, so we had lots of time to enjoy the weather before heading back to the cold.

Another touring day. We toured the Fort Wilderness looking for a future campsite, then took the ferry to Magic Kingdom. We wanted to visit it on a less busy day.

December 5, 2019 – A little bit of everything.
Today was a slow day. Once we got moving we decided to meander through the Saratoga Springs Resort, the Treehouse Villas, Spaceship Earth, Mexico, the Disney Beach and Yacht Club Resort, the Festival of the Lion King, Expedition Everest x 2, the Rivers of Light (Animal Kingdom), and finally Disney Springs.

December 3, 2019- Hooray for Hollywood!
Hollywood, here we come.
Today was our planned day for Hollywood, and the new StarWars: Galaxy’s Edge. The atmosphere was amazing.

The temperatures are cooling here in Orlando. After two days of 28c, the high hit 16c. Then of course there was the “wind chill”
Todays outing was to Animal Kingdom. The park was very busy, but we were able to ride on Everest and Kilimanjaro Safaris. The safari had a long lineup, but it was well with it. he giraffes were quite active. They blocked our truck for a good couple of minutes. We saw an number of animals along the way including many birds, lions, and even some ostrich eggs! They were in the same place, and piled the same way as they were 5 years ago, it was amazing :). We then toured the world of the Avatar. Nicely done, but hard to understand if you have not seen the movies.

It’s been a great day here in Orlando. We started in EPCOT. The lines were short and the weather was great. After completing the front of the park we made our way around the world showcase. When we reached the back exit of the park, close to the British display we decided to exit the park and try out the new Skyliner transportation system. It was nice. We travelled throughout the entire system and ended up at Hollywood. The temptation was too great so we disembarked and headed to the new Star Wars world. All I can say was awesome! After a short tour we returned to EPCOT via boat to see the Candlelight Processional and the fireworks.

Another Halloween in the books…..
The weather did not cooperate this year. A major rain storm decided to hit us at 18:00, just as the kids started to arrive. 84 in total, not bad. We usually get around 120.
September 25, 2019 – We saw a production of Billy Elliot in East Haddam, Connecticut
Today we got to see a production of the Billy Elliot at the 142 year old Goodspeed Opera House in Goodspeed, Connecticut. The production was of Broadway quality. The entire cast was great! After the matinee performance Stephanie and I went for supper at the inn next door to the theatre. During our dinner we heard some kids playing in the park below the patio. To our amazement, it was the kids from the cast playing soccer between the shows.

Youth cast playing outside between the shows

September 23, 2019 – Hammonasset Park
Two jobs for today. Laundry and firewood. We were successful with the laundry, but the wood….4 pieces for $6US or 12 pieces for $14US. Way too expensive for us! The weather continues to be great.
September 22, 2019 – Hammnassest State Park
It’s the last day of summer, but we are very lucky. The weather has forgotten to change. We are hoping that the temperatures this week stay in the 25c range. This will allow us to enjoy our “summer holidays”. We left Green Gate campground at 09:00 and arrived at Hammonassest about 13:00. Travel was mostly on the interstate. The campground is located next to the 2 mile long Hammonassest Beach. Our section is devoid of trees, but we have made it comfortable by deploying our sun shelter. WE had spaghetti for dinner, followed by a sunset walk on the beach.
