SUN FINALLY! It’s been awhile since we have seen that. It actually hit 17c today! The XXXkm drive went without a hitch. We arrived 12:00. Why pick a place so close to the last? The KOA was the only site around that had availability for the weekend. The other Provincial Parks around were fully booked. The sites in our area were spaced out nicely and rather level. The staff were great, and the entire place was clean. Although we did not take advantage of it, the pool was opened and heated.
Day 2, we took quick tour of Parry Sound. I thought it was a lot bigger than it was. We did a couple of geocaches, then headed back to the site. We managed to stay in-between the major rain storms and only got some sprinkles.
Day 3, September 13, Stephanie’s birthday! Pancakes and sausage for the birthday breakfast. Cloudy, cool with a chance of rain….AGAIN….Back into Parry Sound for lunch at the Trestle Brewing Company. In this COVID world, all their seating was outdoors. We had the cheese platter and Dirty Bird sandwich. Did some additional touring around the waterfront area and returned to the campsite for a campfire and some reading. I baked some chocolate turtle brownies for Stephanie’s “birthday cake”
